Description

This shrine is all about compassion. Along the inner circle, without beginning nor end, runs the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum: ‘Compassion is like a pearl or dewdrop on a lotus, a treasure we must realise.’ This mantra protects against danger and fear and provides positive energy, patience and concentration. In Buddhism the lotus stands for the pure enlightened soul, that can be reached through self knowledge and meditation. Acting out of compassion is the dewdrop on the lotus flower you yourself are.
